You can submit your TRC application at any Immigration Department in Vietnam.

1. In Hanoi

Requirements to obtain a TCR in Vietnam

Foreign nationals with valid entry visa to Vietnam may obtain a temporary residence card if they meet all of the following conditions:

1. ● Their passport is still valid for at least 13 months
2. ● Their entry visa is one of the following types: DT1, DT2, DT3, LV1, LV2, LD1, LD2, NN1, NN2, LS, DH, PV1, TT, NG3
3. ● Their temporary residence registration process has been completed
4. ● Their stay is sponsored by an individual or organization from Vietnam
5. ● Their supporting documents match the purpose of stay

How to get temporary residence card in Vietnam: The complete procedure

You can submit your application either online or offline.

1. Dossier

Make sure your application includes:

1. 🔻A written introduction by the inviting or sponsoring individual/organization
2. 🔻Information form for a temporary resident card (Form NA8) (See below)
3. 🔻Valid passport
4. 🔻02 photos in 2×3 size (one affixed to the Information form, one kept separate)
5. 🔻Supporting documents: work permit, work permit exemption, etc.
6. 🔻All digital documents (except passports) require verification of electronic signature. Your passport, as well as other documents for which you cannot obtain such verification, should be sent by post to the Immigration Department in your locality.Form NA8Download

Once your dossier is complete, you can submit it in either ways:

2. Offline submission

🔻 Step 1: The applicant or the inviting/guaranteeing organization submits the application at the Immigration Department.

🔻 Step 2: Immigration officials verify your application.

1. ● If your application is valid, you will need to pay the processing fee. Your card should be ready by the date on your appointment slip.
2. ● If your application is incomplete or invalid, immigration officials will guide you through additional steps to complete it.
3. ● If your application is rejected, the authorities will provide an explanation in writing.

🔻 Step 3: Competent authorities issue your temporary residence card. You can receive your TCR card at the Immigration Department or have it delivered.

3. Online submission

🔻Step 1: If you didn’t have an account on the Public Service Portal (Cong Dich vu cong), register for one.

1. ● For the guaranteeing company or organization: Register with a USB token or mobile digital signature.
2. ● For the guaranteeing individual or applicant: Register with your VNeID account, which is available through self-registration or by request to the Ministry of Public Security.

🔻Step 2: Sign in to your account on the Public Service Portal and select the appropriate procedure.

🔻Step 4: Once your card is ready, you’ll need to pay the processing fee.
