Can I get a notarized copy of photo ID in Vietnam online?

As of the latest update, this procedure cannot be done online. You can only book an appointment in advance through the National Public Service Portal (Cong Dich vu Cong Quoc gia) to avoid long waiting lines.

Follow these steps to book your appointment:

  1. Step 1: Visit dichvucong.gov.vn, then select “Thong tin va dich vu” (Information and Services) > “Dich vu cong noi bat” (Popular services).
  2. Step 2: Click on “Chung thuc ban sao tu ban chinh giay to, van ban do co quan to chuc co tham quyen cua Viet Nam cap hoac chung nhan” (Certifying copies from original documents issued or certified by the authorities of Vietnam).
  3. Step 3: Select the nearest judicial office.
  4. Step 4: Login with your Public Service account or Digital Identification account.
  5. Step 5: Select the type of document you need notarized, your available date and time, then press the button “Dat lich hen” (Book an appointment). You will receive a text message confirming your appointment.
  6. Step 6: On the date of your appointment, bring your ID and its copies to the notary office you selected to begin the procedure.

How much does it cost to notarize a copy of my ID in Vietnam?

The current fee is 2.000 VND per page. The fee is 1.000 VND per page from your third copy. This fee is only applicable to notary public offices operating under the Department of Justice.

At diplomatic missions, it will cost $10 per copy.

The costs are more varied, but often higher, at private notary offices. If you intend to use your notarized copies outside of Vietnam, they must be translated, which will add to the total costs of notarization.
